Memoirs of an Eastender

Saturday December 13, 2003 - 10:11 a.m.

Forget about fattening the goose, we're just fattening ourselves!

Currently reading: Nothing

Making me happy: Having a good night's sleep yesterday

Pissing me off: An odd conversation with a certain guy

Today, once again, I am going to be bored! :(

The munchkin and myself have still got colds, which means that I am not going to take us out anywhere - especially through the screaming hordes that ARE Christmas shoppers.

What I don't get is that everyone has been going mad in the supermarkets for about a month now already! Why do people feel the need to stockpile on the lead-up to Xmas? And come to think of it, why does 'the lead-up to Xmas' seem to get longer each year.

I did the first of my Xmas pressie shopping yesterday (apart from Lorna's subscription which I got a while back now of course!), and I still feel no urge to buy anything else. as for food, as long as we can eat, why does it have to be 'Xmas' stuff, and stuff 'just in case anyone pops round'??? Sod it, if anyone pops round, we can order a chinky! Not that anyone DOES ever actually just pop round! And why does it seem that people see Xmas as a time to eat twice as much as normal anyway????

It all seems very bizarre to me! Roll on New Year, that's all I can say! No more arguments, no more stress, no more enforced socialising and hopefully a lot less eating and spending. Hee hee!!

Oh yeah, and a very nice young man has set up this group.......dunno quite what he plans to do with it yet, but all you diarists out there are welcome to join I believe!
